From starting your loc journey to placing an order — we've answered the most common questions below.
Starting locs depends on your hair type and the style you want. The most common methods are two-strand twists, coils, and braids for natural hair — or you can use loc extensions for an instant look. Book a 1:1 consultation with us and we'll create a personalised loc plan based on your hair texture, length, and goals.
It typically takes 6 months to 2 years for locs to fully mature, depending on your hair type, thickness, and how you care for them. Looser hair textures tend to take longer. The early stages involve lots of retwisting and patience — but the results are absolutely worth it.
We recommend washing your locs every 1–2 weeks using a residue-free shampoo like our Super Dread Shampoo. Retwisting frequency depends on your preference — most people retwist every 4–6 weeks. Over-retwisting can cause thinning at the roots, so less is often more.
The most important products for loc health are a residue-free shampoo, a lightweight moisturising spray or oil, and a firm-hold gel for retwisting. Avoid products with heavy waxes, silicones, or build-up — they suffocate your locs over time. All products we carry are carefully selected to be loc-safe and natural.
Locs and dreadlocks refer to the same hairstyle — rope-like sections of matted or twisted hair. "Locs" is generally preferred in the natural hair community as a more respectful term, free from negative connotations. We use both terms but always celebrate locs as a beautiful cultural and personal expression.
We offer both. In-person sessions are available Tuesday–Saturday in Tel Aviv. Video call consultations are available for clients anywhere in the world. Sessions are 30–45 minutes and cover your hair type, loc goals, product recommendations, and a step-by-step plan. Book directly from this page.
